vintaylor
Thought It would be a good idea to have a few pictures of our cars here in Malta .. I'll start with mine - not that great looking .. but a Lotus none the less! Quote Vin Taylor
vintaylor
Here's a Lotus Cortina This picture was taken from the Malta Classic Car Museum This Cortina is privately owner by my friends dad.. the car has been restored and is very well known here in Malta.. Really nice car! We also have a lotus 23B here in Malta.. Privately owner by a huge lotus fan and a book of knowledge with all things Lotus related!. The owner also owns a JPS Europa which was personally bought by him in the 70's and is still owned and maintained by him! A truly stunning car! I always try and snap a picture of it whenever I get the chance to see it. Here are a few pictures of the 23B and the Europa (now and back in the 70's) Here are a photo of a privately owned Lotus Exige .. Another great guy with a passion for Lotus ! Malta holds an annual car event where both local and foreign cars are displayed. The last show included a lotus Evora that was brought over from the UK specifically for the show. (sorry I'm in the picture however Its the only photo I've got!) Quote Vin Taylor

Mike6
Last time I went to Malta the whole Island was covered with ancient cars and buses. Guess most of these have gone now but nice pictures Vin. Must make another trip out there - I just loved the island and its friendliness but short shift was given to anyone from Germany!.
vintaylor
Buses have all been replaced with the ex London arriva ones that break down, overheat, catch fire and hit anything that comes within 1 metre of it for the past 2 years !! Mark Blanchard
This is Alan Paterson's old car. There's only one early X180 in the world with colour coded Marina door handles, SE wheels and a silver valance (as opposed to Vulcan grey). http://www.lotusespritworld.com/EOwners/alanPaterson.html Edited January 30, 2014 by Mark B Quote Mark www.lotusespritturbo.com

Arregueti
Hi Vin, Was this car uk registered? Do you have by any chance a copy of this picture with the registration? It may well be my car, and I am curious to know if it was in Malta... :-)
vintaylor
The green evora was actually brought over especially for the event. As far as I am aware, the car went back to the UK after the event. This is the only picture I have of the event I'm afraid Quote Vin Taylor
Arregueti
Thanks Vin, Mine was in Italy as a management car in its previous life, apparently. I thought it might have gone from Italy to Malta for a visit. Thanks anyway. And very nice thread, by the way.
Loose Cannon
How does the 1980s Turbo Esprit have an 05 numberplate? Quote In the garage no-one can hear you scream
vintaylor
Could it be it was imported into the UK in 05 and then exported to Malta? Quote Vin Taylor
Loose Cannon
I think there were instances many years ago when cars were registered by import date, but was the 70s or before. All cars now are registered by date of manufacture now to stop people making cars seem newer than they actually are.
