Oroboros
Hi Guys, I have finally recieved my S4 Esprit back from the shop, after the clutch failed, and have now found some gremlins hidden away. After working on a few other issues, It came to my attention that the Interior Dome Light and The Door Edge lights would stay on after I had closed and locked up the car, and would never go off. My temporary solution was to just disconnect the battery, but I would appreciate any advice as where to look for the problem. Also, how do I remove the Dome Light fitting to get to the bulb, incase it wont go off after my efforts? Thanks for your help in advance guys! ramjet
Start with the simple things for the interior lights. Do both the door switches operate properly? Pop 'em out and test them first. Oroboros
Yes the door switches seem to be fine, did some testing and they seem to be operating correctly
ramjet
Ok. Now check the switches for the tailgate and bonnet. I don't have access to my circuit diagrams right now, but I am pretty sure that if anyone of these is not open circuit i.e. panel closing correctly on switch, all the courtesy light circuits are energised. Oroboros
Ramjet, You are awesome It was the front bonnet switch that had a crack in its mounting, which when the bonnet was lowered wasnt depressed correctly. I would never have thought that the bonnet switch would be connected to the interior lights. Provlem solved. Thanks heaps mate!
