jimmybondi
WTF???? What's going on here? I, as some other members, really have missed this dispute?? I don't know Jimmy, but I know Wayne and always have appreciated his knowledge and support. Also his fine sense of humour and witty remarks... This is so untypical for Wayne... I will not accept that he has left and am looking forward to meet him in October. smit t
I am not a regular contributor but check the site most days like alot of people. I own and Excel but plan at some point to get an Esprit as well. If like me you are a newcomer (to the Esprit) you need the people with knowledge like Wayne but I have to say we are never always going to see eye to eye with everyone. If I read a thread that either I feel is getting a bit silly or to technical then I move on to another and if something annoys you just ignore it. Life is too short! I would also hope Wayne turns up at Hethel in October it will be nice to meet everyone! Regards Tom

Gold FFM mayevora Posted July 19, 2006 Gold FFM Report Share Posted July 19, 2006 Another one here taken by surprize with the above. Always enjoy Waynes posts - technical or funny - Hope he's not gone for long. Also hope to meet in Oct. I'm going to think of his absence as "he's on holiday" and look forward to his return. slade
the way I see it... Wayne said he was going to leave before. Not the other place I'm talking about, this place. It then continues in the JAE thread. I think we are taking about a total of 5 postings out of 52,615 that's 0.000095% I can't help thinking that this has all got out of hand. Bibs
No support?! He called the guy a tosser in the first place and where in the deal is the forum committed to supporting someone who called another member a tosser? He threw a stone, had a rock thrown back and wants me to back him up! Without wanting to sound childish, he started it, please realise that. If Wayne makes the decision not to attend the meeting then that is his decision to make. He is a 55 year old man, a very nice one as we all know but personally, in my opinion he is acting out of kilter with his maturity and the phrase 'cutting off his nose to spite his face' has been bounded about by a few people. As far as I know the person he's had this most recent spat with isn't attending, why isn't he coming then? If he doesn't wish to come back onto the forum, once again that's his decision. Please realise that he has made his decision himself, based on that fact and that's what he's chosen to do. This is the third time Wayne has chosen to leave a forum to my knowledge, twice from here and each time has been over a personality clash with another member. As far as I'm aware no-one else has told us that they are going to leave once and this to me seems to be strange in itself. I run this forum as an extension of my hobby, out of my own pocket (and please understand it's not cheap) and with around 15-20 hours a week of my own time. It's now becoming a ball-ache to be honest! Please, if he's chosen to leave he's gone and as much as I enjoyed his banter and appreciated his technical knowledge it's his decision, he made it. This is the Lotus Esprit Forum, not the Wayne B forum. If Wayne wishes to set up an Esprit forum where he can have only the people he chooses to have online then so be it. Can we please move on as this discussion in my opinion is achieving nothing. As has been said before the "ignore user" feature is there for exactly this - use it and the user doesn't exist as far as you are concerned. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I agree with you there. But I think Wayne's issues with the forum are probably a lot deeper than that. But I'm really tired of talking about it. Fact is it just got all out of hand, everything else is correlary. If people hadn't gotten so riled on both sides initially, this wouldn't have happened. I hope we can all avoid that. This is only the internet. Slade Quote "It's called a fire hydrant. Guest Troy Halliday
Well here is my bit. Yes is is a shame Wayne has left the forum and I like many of you it seems have asked Wayne to reconsider. He's help has always been appreciated and just the fact that this thread has been started is a testament to his contrabution. As for the mods/admin part in all this we are all forum users just like yourself that have volunteered to try and help this forum run smoothly and to stop Bibs having a nervous breakdown . We all have real lives like the rest of you and are not always about to catch every little thing that goes tits up. Having said that we are not the police or school teachers and I for one do not feel the need to slap the wrists of forum members the minute they step out of line. We are all adults (well I'm a 13 year old boy in mans body but....) and I am sure we have all had to deal witha certain amount personality clashes in our time. I proberbly do the least amount of actual moderating choosing rather to try and contrabute helping members where I can and sometimes as with many member trying to stamp out the sparks before a thread catches fire. Flame wars on forums are inevatable but this forum has the least amount I have seen on any forum. If Wayne chooses to come back he will be welcome and his help appreciated by members and mods. Oh and as for the Teigan issue I still get emails from him as he seems to like me I think it's just the rest of you he hates

ukrocketcar
Hello, I 'm french, that means that I can't understand all the details of that sad event. But since I am on this forum 2005 MY - Monsieur Wayne was for me one of the top level of understanding members. A gentleman with VERY strong humour and fine techno Esprit knowledge. Please don't let him out. Is so important to have in this" forum team" such rare and present Character.
