jetace25 0
Is CV joint grease a better choice for S3 trunnions than the Extreme Pressure 90 gear oil we've been using? All positive and negative recommendations and experiences invited. Many thanks, Si Edited June 10, 2012 by jetace25
andydclements 757
EP90, that's the Lotus spec. Grease just doesn't get round them enough.
jetace25 0
Thanks Andy, So is that it then? Is there no one to defend the case for thin liquid, non-setting CV joint grease in the trunnion swivels? I believe Hilly used to recommend it before he binned his in favour of lower ball joints. Oh well EP90 it is. Are there any recommended brands? Thanks, Si
Moxie 101
EP90, that's the Lotus spec. Grease just doesn't get round them enough. Ditto. I researched this heavily when I had my '83 Turbo. Grease has been known to lead to trunnions shearing off from lack of lubrication. I used Granville Hypoid: http://www.aseriesspares.co.uk/workshop-essentials/granville-hypoid-ep-90/prod_295.html Quote 1983 "Investor's Special Edition" Turbo Esprit (#43/50) | 2012 Evora S
