Rev limiter in 5th gear

Please could i ask what revs would have to be reached for the rev limiter to kick in in 5th and i am interested to know have any drivers actually reached that point?

lol does anyone dare to claim membership of the 5th gear rev limiter club?'

According to the lotus blurb, the RPM limit is 7,000 rpm (fuel cut off)

5th gear is 25.5mph / 1000rpm so......quick calculation (slide rule out)......

178.5mph theoretical - depends on tyres etc (obviously their diameter)

I know of a few ppl who have come close, GPS confirmed, to this. If the gearbox/runway wasn't a limit the car would get to about 190mph on its bhp/drag.

I've never gotten to the rev limiter as the car slows down at 155 ish

7400 rpm for a Sport350 B) so that's a theoretical top speed of 188.7mph

I had an indicated (speedo) 183 at 6800rpm in a '98 GT with no cats and zoomy exhaust.

183mph on the speedo is probably around 110 in real life!

I think the limit is set lower for V8GT as no wing, so factory set speed limit to ensure safety.

Think the quoted top speed of V8GT is less than V8. This implies diffrent set limits, as GT should be faster without drag of rear wing.

Could be wrong.
