S2 made it to paint, finally!

Recommended Posts

Been a year since I've had my S2, been doing loads of jobs to get it ready for paint working from the inside out, done the interior, cleaned up the engine and spent best part of 2 months working on th body alone. Now it's gone to the body shop for painting and should be back on Saturday, how cool is that, can't wait! Photos to come...

Cheers guys, told the painter to keep it as it came out of the factory with satin black valance, front splitter and sills. I've gone for a colour change on the wheels, not 100% sure they are gunna work but worth a try, can always get them redone. Got all my decals ready and redone all the black satin parts waiting to go back on, can't wait! Will take loads of photos when it's all back together:)

It happened, believe me it happened, hehe. Wheels going in for a refurb in the next week or two, so no pics till they are back. Oh go on then, a quick teaser. However this picture simply does not do it justice, it was raining and some horrible reflections from the bushes on my drive.

Cheers slewthy, local painter did it, I've know him for a few years and he always does a great job for the money. I paid under a grand, but I did all the satin black and all the prep to keep the price down. Wheels in for paint in the next couple of weeks, then loads of photos to come:)

Hey Charlie,

How's the rebuild coming ? Some s2 owners here are dying to see the result of your paint job :innocent:

All done, I took loads of photos yesterday in the sunshine, just putting together a small website to showcase the car, should be live by the weekend. It's looking good, I had to wait ages for the wheel refurb but well worth the wait. I'll have a link to the photos on here soon... Thanks for the interest, Charlie ;-)

Toyo 350's on the front (195/65/14) and Toyo Teo on the rears (215/65/14). You don't know what an anorak I was when choosing those tyres, made sure the sizes matched in proportion to the car and even found photos of the tread pattern before I purchased just so I could achieve the retro look, haha, what a tit I can be! Thanks for the uplifting comments ;-)
