Hi Paul

The cable has not broke as in snapped its very bent and cracked at the end where it comes out of the dash just below the steering column. It was like it when I got the car but how it got like it where its situated I have know idea would have needed some force to bend it and its not in a place where it would be ease to knock (spooky :) )

Apologies :)

The S3 has the choke in the console, i 'assumed' the N/A to be the

same, but from what you say it goes a bit further and my push through

solution won't help...

BTW, Even in the harshest winter, a few good pumps on the throttle prior

to starting, then letting it idle for a minute, makes the choke unessasary.

..well for me, anyhow :)

That's right it starts ok with a pump or to just one of those jobs to put right. :)

It also has a electrical connection on the cable housing (choke tell tale light I should think) although that's not connected to anything at the moment when I feel like sliding down into the foot well a bit claustrophobic down there :) , I must have a look to see if there any connections floating about.

Hi Ray, just done choke cable on my Federal 83 Turbo. Like your car the choke is on the dash panel to the right of steering collumn on L.H.D. car. The choke control knob pull is the same as a TR7, but the cable is 114" long(outer) 117" long inner. Think it was one of the few parts actually made for car! On mine the plastic holding outer cable to the electrical part was snapped allowing outer cable to move in and out. Cable held in dash by moulded in plastic barbs. If you get hand up under dash and feel for these barbs you can squeeze them in with fingers to relise cable assay. I then undid other end from carbs, and carefully threaded long bike cable outer over old cable inner and taped them together with electrical tape. You can then go back to other end and carefully pull back through dash. I managed to repair plastic housing with epoxy . To re- install do reverse of previous process(dont forget to lube cable) :) Hope this was of use to you Wayne p.s. think they break due to lack of lubrication and use.

HI Wayne

Nice bit of helpful information there I thought it would be a made for, or modified for the car .

What I thought I would do is try and bend strait and like your self stick plastic bits back together .I was just bit worried about the end snapping of :) but now that you have given me that information at least I no where to look for a new end. :)

As I said I don't really need it but it would just be nice to have it working
