Brad Robbins
I finally have my very own Esprit. (Hopfully the first of many) I spent many nights pouring over the internet, and digging through Motor-Ads before I found my Esprit. The months I spent in anticipation only make the fact that I now own one even better! It was a long haul... in fact over 1900 miles (3050km), but this was the only car worth traveling that distance for. When I arrived to see the car I felt like a giddy little kid about to piss himself. However, I felt even more like a little kid when I drove the first block with the parking brake on. I was extremly nervous when driving the Esprit for the first time, so I'll just blame my forgetfulness on that. I had my fun, paid the man, loaded the Esprit onto the trailor, and made my way back.... ... and the drive home was great, I couldnt belive all the stares I was getting. Every gas station we stopped at, there was always someone itching to talk with me about the car. Weither it was 4 in the afternoon or 2am at night it didnt matter, the Esprit got attention. After getting home, I gave her a quick wash to take care of 14 hours of bug splatter, and then got the best sleep of my life. The trip was well worth the reward. I left the Esprit on the trailor for the weekend (insurance reasons) and finally put her back on the road Tuesday night. I took her around the block before noticing the damn parking brake (again!), and was quick to release it. After that I didnt have a single hic-up, she moved like she was new. With the turbo pulling me back into my seat, I quickly relized the power of this little car. The nervous feel I had the first time was gone, and shifting was a breeze. I maneuvered her from one corner to the next going faster all the while. The road just seemed to open up, and so did the Esprit. I love this car, and if I keep her in the shape she's in... I'm sure she'll love me back. Its feels great to finally own my dream car. It's also good to know that I'm not the only one who feels this way. I cant wait to get to know everyone here, and I hope we can become good freinds.
