another esprit nutter

hello fellows

As my name suggests i hope to get my first esprit next March. Want to spend between 15 - 17K, but I'll worry about that then.

I live in Essex and recently was kind enough to be driven around by Julian in his gorgeous 02 V8

I was once a 'Next March Guy'.

Took a few years of planning and finally bought my Esprit in Mar 03. Wanted to spend 15k and ended up spending 17k. Good luck to you.

This budget would put you in the region of an S4 or GT3.

Or a cheap'n unloved V8 off ebay.

Which one are you after ???

Welcome to forum Ashley this is a nice forum to think about buying Esprit. Let's hope next march it might be true for you B) but don't afraid if you read all those writings about faulty things on esprit's...afterall these are nice cars.

I must admit I like the S4 cos of its pecularly placed spoiler. Im old enough and have full no claims to not worry about insurance (at last). I've wanted a yellow one since I was 7, 29 years ago and will have the funds to get one. I find the cars pre 93 look slightly dated with their large front indicators and lack of nooks and cranies under the skirts. Im not worried about having a V8 cos to me the power isn't what im after but if I can find an untroubled model wouldn't say no

Welcome to the forum Ashley - You'll do well with a nice GT3 then. I hear from the factory via one of our members that they percieve the 2.0l model to be the most reliable and well built Esprit, plus it's got the nooks and crannies that had been added by then

A suggestion: try to find in Essex a model ESSEX ESPRIT: it is problably the best Looking for an Esprit.

More seriously the choice between a 2.2 and a V8 is difficult one the V8 got a strong straight power and has been worked by lotus ingenieurs about 7 years the 2.2 is a turbo rocket and has behind her more 30 years of ingenieurs worked behind . It is interresting before a d
