MY13 ?

Just read this on another board from a chap ordering a new Evora...

'Even while I was placing the order I was asked if I minded if the car was a MY13 and that the front fascia would be different. I was subsequently told the same thing by a source within Lotus.'

Any thoughts?

I was asked the same thing when I ordered in April, but my 12 will have the "normal" front end. No Clue as to the 13 appearance. I speculate that it might have a resemblance to the EXige S.

There's no visual difference with the MY13.

^ This is correct. There's no external visual changes to the MY13.

Kyle, if you haven't already taken ownership of yours yet, then it will be a MY13.

I wait with great anticipation the arrival of my MY13 Evora S with no visual changes from MY12 (that's how I wanted it).

Are the Evoras still being continually updated/improved? Or has the MY12 stopped this?

Always being improved. There's a team of half a dozen people whose job it is to keep doing this...

Appearance aside, what are the changes made to this point that are MY13 specific?

150 updates and improvements apparently and at least 5 seconds a lap quicker around Hethel!

From what I've heard there's still room for improvement... :sofa:

I suppose you could include the change in door latches and CDL pin delete, but to be honest that was a mid MY12 change (a MY12.5!). Apart from that - nowt.

MAybe also the design of the floor mats? My car does not have door pins and has floor mats stating "Evora" not the round badge that you will find in several US cars and that was shohn in a early brochure "news MY 12" (that brochure also stated a different shift knob that - in the end - did not make into production)

The rounded Lotus badge floor mates are no more available. They looked great, but not really durable... Poor quality rounded badge material and stitching.

They were fitted in early MY12 Evora's. I know one with these floor mates, 11/11.

Is that really true?! 5 Seconds a lap faster?

If the only thing constant is change, then why do we resist change the most?

Mine didn't have mats, but I'd asked JCT to supply them as part of the sale, the ones they fitted are the ones with 'Evora' on them, this was in Feb this year.

I asked JCT if they had some carpet adhesive too as the carpet behind the pedals fell down a couple of times. They said it was a known issue and a new piece of carpet was fitted which goes much higher and has better fixings.

Ive had great customer service with the Evora, only minor niggles but all rectified - along with things I'd not even noticed.

I just hope the next car Lotus launch has had more of these issues sorted before its released for sale!
