mayevora 1,353
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/9567013/California-paves-way-for-driverless-cars.html It is coming. It could be 10 years, it could be 20 but eventually it will get here. They have been playing with this for a long time but up until now it's definately been more science fiction instead of science fact. With the technology available in mapping combined with progression in the automobile manufacturing technology dept, I can see this getting to the point (long way off) where fear of litigation will force individuals and Companies to hand control of the car over to a computer rather than trust an error prone human being to make a journey. If technology can get to a point where it can make a faster and more calculated decisions in populated locations and at differing speeds than us, we will become surplus to requirements in the driving seat. Puts me out of a job eventually as well, but makes interesting reading. Quote Always do sober what you said you'd do drunk - that will teach us to keep mouth shut!
