top-plumber
Hey Alex, you will have to take the coating off the outside edge of the wheel centres as they wont fit in the wheels. I used a dremell with a small sanding wheel. Real pest actually. Rims look amazing. Wayne Quote Suspension, brakes, chipped, chargecooler rad and pump, injectors, ignition coils and leads, BOV, highflow cat and zorst, Translator and tie rods, Head lights, LEDs to tail lights and interior,Polybushes to entire front end, Rad fans, rad grill, front end refurb with aluminium spreaderplates and galvanised bolts. Alex Carter
Bought a hand held steamer and got busy with the De greaser
Chillidoggy
How do you find the steamer works, Alex? My missus has got one In the cupboard she never seems to use, and I always wondered about hijacking it for just that kind of job. Don't think she'd notice if it was gone. Not sure if I'd get away with using her bed cover, though. Full marks for that! Quote Margate Exotics.
Alex Carter
It works better with something it certainly melts the grease and starts to move the oil grim but with a proper de greaser it works amazing I used the spray from muc off and I was rather impressed but don't inhale it or spray your cuppa it tastes like ass
Alex Carter
So shells and bearings have arrived for my build .There are some little sharp bits and rough sections I guess where they have rubbed together in the box from delivery am I ok to gently rub these off with wet and dry to get them smooth ? Also have my engineering guy making my liner tool so I can get honing and cleaning the goo inside the block .
rizla603104
Great write-up. How close do you think you are to getting it back together?
910Esprit
Hi Alex would not recommend wet or dry as you don't want the possibility of the particles being left embedded in the bearing. I would probably suggest a jewelers file or similar. However due to the softness of the material it may not matter if you simply fit asis. Simon350S
Where did you buy them from? If they have arrived damaged I'd be asking for a new set, this time properly packaged. Either that or collect and drop the other ones back off at the same time. Quote Chunky Lover
Alex Carter
Great write-up. How close do you think you are to getting it back together? Soon I hope but I am being anal about everything They were in bags together not packed individually so the marks and rough buts are where they've rubbed or knocked together
Simon350S
When I bought some they were individually bubble wrapped then properly packaged. Have you contacted them yet to ask for an exchange? Quote Chunky Lover

Bentzion
Don't know if it matters to yo but you should paint the block and other bare aluminum parts with POR 15 aluminum color. It looks great and easy tot clean all the grime of later as you have closed all the pores on the surface per se'. Good stuff on the rebuild..... Are you going to do any port matching in the intakes? Any head work in the works? Quote If the only thing constant is change, then why do we resist change the most?
Alex Carter
Yes everything is being cleaned for painting .I don't plan on doing any mods to this one really just getting it back running perfectly and driving nice .before I do all that I need to enjoy the stock car again .
