Alex Carter
There under orders not to blast that's why I had them dipped but when they come back I am going to submerge them in fluid to make sure they didn't .I have a friend with a sonic cleaner too so if they do ignore me I can get the stuff out don't worry everything is going in this engine I'm not leaving anything to chance . I also chatted briefly to Jay this evening from JAE head gaskets for the states with racing belts 10 days woo hoo and I've also found a stock supplier of hylomar for my liners so all go at the moment . Today's plan is to clean and paint g box dress the heads remove the cams so the valves are safe for when I faff around Turing the crank to get the con rods tightened .also ordered some more rubber seals aaaaaaand some stainless pipe fittings for the turbo water feeds . Just the clutch left to find and order . And a massive thanks to southwest lotus for the help info and stuff James and phil good guys

Alex Carter
First go to machine mart and buy a mains drill then same store they do a pack of twisted steel coated in brass wire wheels remove all bits in the way and get cleaning when it's dust free I used a air compressor and nozzle to blast off the crap use silver smooth Hammerite first coat seals the pores of the alloy , using 50 p brushes from the range soak the used brush in petrol in a cap or something this attacks the cheap bristles and frays them a little then when the first coat is dry clean the bush and re paint but stippling and dabbing to creat a bobbly finish it looks weird wet watch out for runs but drys to a lovely powdered finish like a spray but without the over spray .
