From the land were speed limits are limited

Whilst in the shop for the 30 000 KM inspection I received aprintout of the ECU data from my car.

Makes roughly 19 hours at speeds at or above 150 kph. That's more than 3200 kilometes at speeds that are only legal over here.biggrin.gifbiggrin.gifbiggrin.gif

Its also 10% of my total mileagewhatthahell.gif

Top speed isn't bad either, 293 kph - thanks to Komo-Tec

Unfortunately the car is still in the shop. I'll be getting a new clutch and transmission. BUt, that is another story.

In proper numbers thats 4 hours over 130mph - really impressed & its great to hear of a car being used for what it was designed for!

I wonder if they record hours spent at 100% throttle?

48 minutes above 5500 rpm. Top speed is near 6200 rpm in sixth gear.

so that's the speed data from the ECM impulses [293] -what is it compared with sat-nav ?

Ohh, and from my impressions a lot of TDI Audis and Mercedes run all day long with speeds around 180km/h to lets say 220km/h on our 'Autobahn' ..but with your kind of driving you just don't see it from my perspective in the RH lane ;)

I made a video where I hit a GPS timed 290 kph:

Too much traffic around there for my comfort...although the lens may be influencing the view. I did give my old girl a quick burst to 200 kph for her 100,000 mile birthday....one Sunday on an Autoroute...that would have been more if it hadn't been for the others! I recall a group of Motards who's idea of fun was to ride around the Peripherique in Paris at warp speeds...the reasoning was that they'd be gone and past before any of the cars in front had time to move. They're all dead, now.....

Just shows how little speed limits have to do with safety....I've been busted for 105mph on a completely empty motorway, and you can legally do 290 klicks in traffic!

Thomas, with 270km/h over an surface-change, and on a bent ?!

..so the Evora does have in fact this good suspension :D

Normally I use the A9 for those 'spirited runs' -as for having more straight sections inbetween the various exit points ..but it was also full of 'road-work ahead' warnings this year :(

Impressive. Your fellow drivers are well disciplined the way they move over to let you pass. Here in oz it's a major problem with bad drivers staying in the passing lane and displaying an indignant attitude if you flash your lights.

Was there a bend or a surface change?

Seriously, the Evora has such good road properties that you really don't have to worry about these unless its a really bad one. Absolutely not like the Porsche GT3 I once had, which would launch your head against the roof and jump at least half a lane on every bump.

You are of course right, road work is a nightmare. I regularly drove the A1 between Hamburg and Bremen in the last years, 80 Km of uninterrupted construction, which finally finished last week after 3-1/2 years :unworthy:

Also, at 270 KPH you are covering 4-1/2 kilometres per minute, so the video above is covering something near 10 kilometres on a stretch.

There is generally a big difference between driving during the week and driving on weekends. Weekends are dangerous, because then we have the same problems with casual drivers hogging the left lane and others jumping lanes without looking.

Also, the Evora has very high passing prestige, much different from any Audi, for example. Though both can be similarly fast (at least the Audi RS-models) people are much more willing to make room for the Lotus when you're coming along. I rarely have to flash my lights.

Generrally 2.2 / 2.4 bar with cold tires. Of course, that goes up to about 2.4/2.6 when they get warm. Tire wear is quite even, but they do only last one season at most (10.000-14.000 Km).

Driving the Evora S on the autobahn at 140-150mph consistently on the way back from Frankfurt last year I was very, very impressed at how 'relaxing' it was and the car offered no drama even through fairly decent bends and potted surfaces.

.....the drama starts when the small lorry pulls to the left lane and you have to say "thank you ap / Lotus for this efficient brakes" - they are very impressive if you have to stop from higher speeds

@@@Thomas,

P Corsas on 19 / 20 even get 0,2 bar higher when driving fast on motorway, nearly same tire pressure here!

Pffft - 150mph in a 22 year old Esprit on the Mountain Mile in the Isle of Man is what sorts the men from the autobahn boys :smoke:

This is - like almost everything here in Germany - regulated by a rule, which says, that you have to drive on the right side of the road as much as possible (the so called "Rechtsfahrgebot").

You are risking a 80,- Euros ticket and 1 penalty point when violating this rule and hinder someone else. (18 penalty points means revocation of your driver license)
