Top Gear Special – 50 Years of Bond Cars

Top Gear Executive Producer Andy Wilman notes:

We're acutely aware that Bond originally drove a Bentley in the Casino Royale novel, but the Aston Martin DB5 is as much a part of 007's furniture as are the sardonic, legendary one-liners. So Top Gear is delighted to see it return on the big screen in the upcoming 007 film Skyfall, out 26 October.

To mark the release of Skyfall and 50 years of Bond cars on film - Richard Hammond will present a Top Gear Special celebrating 50 years of Bond cars, on BBC2 at the end of October. Presented solely by Richard, it is, I'm proud to admit, says Andy, that it’s something of an old-school style documentary in which Top Gear shuts up, takes a back seat, and listens.

TLF sourced the pristine S1 Esprit which will be featured in Monaco and the 007 sound stage at Elstree along with the iconic DB5. Stunning example of the Esprit, you'll love it!

Not the legendary Pinewood Studios - Shock!

You'll be calling it a Hollywood production next.

Some one younger with an updated Photo?

Do you have the Ayerton woman available? (I saw her out side the office and thought she might be a nice lady)

What on earth have they done to that poor excel!

Mind you, it's not as bad as what they did to that Aston in the Movie :-)

Submerged it, I think Top Gear is getting old now and they seem to be scraping the bottom trying to keep the show afloat. :D

Are we talking about the 3 wheeled variety of Bond car or car's that stared in Bond movies?

That's the Excel conversion they do to take it underwater, which apparently works very well if you check out the Top Gear video. I for one am glad they didn't use an original S1 Esprit and ruin it.

Thanks Bibs. Will be a good night as I'm off to see Skyfall at Westfield Extreme 5:30 then back and watch the Bond special. Nice.

Trevor.

This is unfair, and patent torture to forum members not residing in the UK. Any site owner worth his salt (and willing to serve a lengthy prison term as a "take one for the team" goodwill gesture) would find a way to post a usable link to the finished program.

Don't mind me, as I patiently tap my foot and check my watch... :censored:
