£66 for a set of 20 wheel bolts (S4) - sound right?

Recommended Posts

I am replacing my rusted, grey wheel bolts for black.

I bought a £20 set from nuts4wheels but despite looking great, are slightly too short and I'm worrying even before I put them on, so no go.

I have found what I need -www.performancealloys.com

They didnt have my car spec but a 1993 S4 bolts has the correct dimensions

17mm, 60 degree taper, M12 1.5mm thread, 35mm long.

It will be £66 plus £8 shipping.

Does this sound right - obviously disappointing that its not £20 though. A quality thing?

The other option is to convert to studs and nuts but that seems abit excessive. Plastics caps would be better!

Cheers

There may be cheaper alternatives but the price isn't surprising. I've been agonising over these for the Eclat for ages -

As long as the quality is there I wouldn't mind paying, but you only really find out after a couple of winters.

Pretty sure Adrian *GasmanGT3" on here sourced some reasonably priced items local to him.

Yes, agree.

I definitely need to change the bolts. I think that plastic black covers will look like.... plastic black covers, but I don't know - anyone got them?

Black is smart. I'll go for it and post up the changes here.

They are an interesting solution. I like the idea.
