Brake problem with the Excel

Recommended Posts

I say a problem, but the brakes work very well, the problem is that there is a large amount of travel of the pedal before the brakes actually come on. on numerous occasions, I have thought that I have depressed the clutch pedal by mistake. You might find that odd, but I live in an area where we have some long hills where you can free wheel for over three kilomtres with the gearlever in neutral. It is the offset position of the pedals and not having one foot above the clutch that catches me on occasions.

Starngely enough, I asked another owner of an Excel in Cape Town if he knows of an adjustment and he says that he has exactly the same problem with his Excel, even after skimming the discs, new seals in the master cylinder and new seals and pads in the calipers.

Is there an adjustment somewhere that I cannot see?
