I'm guessing the wood floor pic is the dealership or are you parked in someone's loungeroom? :D

All we know is that when they stop making this, we will be properly, properly sad.Jeremy Clarkson on the Esprit.

Wood floor is the dealer.

Racing cars in the Barn are:

1970 Type 61Mx

1971 Type 69 F2

1991 X180R

Those and the rest of the collection are listed in the car list under the avatar.

None.

Thanks, then why is this topic stated is "2013 Evora S" while there are no differences between MY12 and MY13 and the car is also delivered in 2012?

Makes no sense other than trying to be tough.

Outside of Europe, most markets specify Model Year, which normally changes at the end of summer - it makes quite a difference to sales. It probably doesn't make sense to them that we aren't interested in it ourselves.

Kyle - it looks stunning, love the spec and colour and the nose badge really sets it off. Can you blacken or colour code the sidemarkers to look stealthier too?

If you mean the relectors I don't think I can.

If you mean the wheel center caps I am thinking of trying to get black badge centers as well.

One not obvious visual cue is the calipers. The S should come with Red calipers, but I thought they would clash significantly with the Velvet Red color and they do if your care to find another Velvet Red Evora S picture. THe only difference in the caliper is the color. The black just kind of blend in. Everyone who knows the difference has said that the black caliper was a good choice. Another feature of the black caliper is that the word "lotus" is highlighted in white or silver. It is hard to see with the wheel spokes blocking the view, but with the car moving the wheel blurs and it can beem seen quite nicely.

Totally agree with this statement. I saw a Velvet Red at our local dealer with the red calipers and it was terrible mix IMO. In fact that conversation which started with Brandon our Salesman and then grew with the Dealer Principal ended up 24 hours later with me swapping my Aquamarine car for my Ardent red one! Some months later then getting the calipers painted red to the correct spec.

You did everything right. Colour is lovely, even wifey likes it. Black calipers are the way to go, I hate the red ones. Suedetex is something I would love to get on mine, the only thing I would change (except headers at some time...).

Thanks. I was going for understated (if an Evora can be understated). Notice the black nose badge? I am planning on black badging the wheel centers as well. Then a CF engine cover and the car will be exactly as I want it.

I think the big difference (compared to AM´s or other cars) is that when you put an Evora in the sunlight the color would change its appearance (much brighter). When I show pics of my (frost blue) Evora to others some asked already if that is the same car (for example: in garage it looks blue-gray and in the sun it looks light blue! (same with some paints of TVR´s - yesterday pics was shown to me - same car, several shades...)

for example:

....same color.....(and also an example that Kyles´s choice of caliper color was a g o o d idea :D )

On the subject of color...

...I read somewhere that Lotus uses other companies colors like Honda or something. So I keep looking around at other cars and I am suddenly seeing a massive number of cars with a dark burgundy metallic color similar ot but not quite the same as the Evora..

As Snoopy1969 said about the color, it very much depends on the type and angle of the light. And pictures don't necessarily reflect what the eye will see.

When my wife finally saw the car in direct sunlight a few days ago she made a reference to the Twilight movies series which went right past me. Tnen the same night Twilight aired on TV and I got the reference. Apparently the Vampire Edward Cullen played by Robert Pattison has skin that sparkles when in direct sun. Same with Velvet Red (and I assume Frost Blue and Autumn Bronze etc).

There are only two or three companies worldwide making these car paints and supplying all the manufacturers. So, whilst the big carmakers have the resources in the design department to define their own colours a small carmaker has to rely on what the paint maker has to offer. Sometimes they use the "left overs" and sometimes the paint maker uses Lotus to present something new and unique. I believe that Motorsport Black would fall into the latter category.

I have run out of file space and can not upload additional pictures.  BUt I can say the suedetex is a really nice interior if you are going for luxury.
