So, my dad decided in his wisdom to walk down his stairs in his socks instead of bare feet or slippers. The inevitable happened and he fell down the stairs catching his leg in the bannisters on the way down and breaking his foot in 4 places.

Unfortunately the break is so bad they are keeping him in to operate and possibly put plates into his foot. Either way he will be out of action for some time.

I spoke to him last night and he assured me he still wants to attend the Xmas Party. But I will be bringing him down and staying with him now, to look after him.

All the best for a speedy recovery Mr Kimberley snr.

Live dangerously, no surrender. It's always a good conversation starter.

Get well soon, make sure they keep the size of that cast down so it doesn't interfere with driving !

Hope recovery is swift and you're soon back firing on all cylinders. I can appreciate having painful feet, I'm suffering myself..... although in my case, it's the gout.

He deserves a better story than fell down the stairs. Are you sure it wasn't when he was running an international rally with Kimi and a deer ran across the road?

Many decades back he replied to a question I had on my S1 Esprit here in the colonies (Portland, Oregon USA) and I was impressed he took the time to write. Get well soon.

oh dear it must be that time of year my mum has just been relerased from BDH after an operation on her right arm, broke right arm and left hand in a fall down the stairs, apparently she caught her foot in her dressing gown.

Good old parents??

Kimbers please pass mine and Sue's thoughts to your dad

I just have two things to say. First, you Brits and your damn national health fill me with uncontrollable jealousy...

Second, I'm told that pain killers and alcohol go quite well together, so there's no excuse for missing the party and downing some Champers again with a Yank.
