'Evora' the Movie!

Recommended Posts

Ok, so I know it's linked in somewhere else on the board but I think this sort of publicity deserves a little gratuitous over exposure!

There's a lot of press online regarding the poster and naming the car as a Lotus Evora... not too shabby, even if most of it suggests the poster would make a good car ad, which it is!

My daughter is eagerly awaiting this film, being a big Twilight fan. Going to offer to take her to the cinema and then do a lot of oohing and aarring when the Evoras appear - I can picture her now slowly sinking into her seat lol. Just watched the trailer with her and I've already told her there looks to be too much 'Love' and not enough 'Lotus' in this film lol!

Joking apart - Great PR though Lotus. :)

This is just great.

Well done whoever wangled that.

I expect the Lotus website to feature 'chrome' as one of the colours in the configurator in time for the release.

:-)

Just saw this link and had to share:

Can't say it doesn't look good in shiny...

So it looks Helen Mirren got to drive the Exige S before customers did! Someone at Lotus is working very hard on product placement. Unusual to see the Lotus wheel centres still on the chrome Evora though. You would expect branding to have been removed for this type of movie. Again, well done Lotus.

Interesting to see the reaction from the fans on the movie sites to the chrome Evora. Hopefully that translates to sales....

Many thanks jimmybondi for this nice piece of entertainment!

-what we have really learned today:

the sound insulation of the RR (trunk/passenger compartment) could be improved (see at the end of the teaser) :w00t:

Displaying the laser blue exige is very good advertising - but:does this sequence play in the US? Our Lotus friens from over there will complain that the exige s is not road legal over there

Neither of theses placements have cost Lotus a dime too!

Which says a lot for Lotus, every free placement in such a high profile position is potential revenue out of the budget so whoever put those cars in there really wanted a Lotus as opposed to having Audi or whoever pay to be there .

another important lesson: The Exige opens new chances for passing on the highway. Not left or right, UNDER is he new way. :hrhr:

If you have the choice between a Stairway to Heaven and a Highway to Hell don't forget the Nomex®!

Captain,  Lotus Airways. We fly lower!

Both movies look to be highly entertaining.

Not being a teenage girl I didn't see the point to Twilight. While The Host is written by the same author it seems a bit more engaging to the older audience.

I quite enjoyed Red and hope the sequal is as good. The cast are all older and the appeal to the potential demographic that can afford a Lotus is much higher.

I doubt the Esprit craze induced by THe Spy Who Loved Me will be replicated by these movies, but the product awarenes and halo effect of Pretty WOman and Basic Instict should be there. (The star of The Host reminds me a Sharon Stone with the hair pulled back and being blonde and all).

Wilhelm, the story/plot says that it goes all around the world ..and as such also in Europe

-see the rhd DAF-truck there, those are not very common in the US  ;)

  • 1 month later...

Went to see the new Die Hard film yesterday and couldnt believe on the trailers there was a lovely silver foiled Evora advertising an upcoming film (some sort of horror by the looks) and then to cap that on a general advert for cineWorld there was an Esprit floating through the air. Both cars were being given a great deal of prominence which made my day. The die hard film was pretty good as well with about 50 cars getting bashed in the first 15 minutes (loved the Porsche being crushed)

Indeed, an extra couple of bits of scampi in his Luxury Fish & Chips...

...or maybe an extra large burger... :horse:
