ECM v8 connector type

Recommended Posts

Anyone here knows the connector type used for the V8 ECM harness?

Do you know where i can buy the female & the male connectors?

The female at the ecu and the male at the harness (showing picture below).

I'm guessing it's a Bosch type connector but there are many types.

Can anyone tell me which Bosch in this site: http://www.bosch-connectors.com/bogscoca/category/2

Is it the 83way or the 35way ?

Click english on the top - then online catalog - then click high pole connectors

you can count the numbers on your own Lotus V8 ?

..it is more than 35 contact points

(but of course, not all are used for the 918)

Che ..take a look into to workshop-book

..the *Pin*numbers there in the wiring plan go up to 80ff numbers on the ECU connector -so it will for sure not be the 35pin type

I looked into this awhile ago...I lost my info but is what I did I spent the day on Ebay looking at BMW ECU pictures,  some models have the same connector  and pin count.  Do the same , figure out what cars .... i think it was 750, 850s   us the same pin count then search ebay for the cheapest wire harness or ECU for that car to strip the parts off of....

I wanted to add in an aftermarket ECU but did not want to cut the harness so my idea was to create a jumper harness to plug into the main loom.   Is that what you are trying to do??

Be nice to know why you want to know about the ECM connecting plug, my car is very modified I have been in there, to make connections for my Apexi Boost controller and other stuff, my ECM is also modified with Emprom sockets and different chips.

Without buggering the stock harness and the connector, I'm trying to find the exact  connector on the motherboard (lotus ecm).

All i need is the connector. Once i have a connector - i will follow the lotus wiring schematic in the wiring harness and hoping to mate it with this connector in the picture below.

- then buy my own standalone ECU similar to this http://adaptronic.com.au/products/440.html

Not entirely sure but read somewhere that the ECU box was similar to a Corvette.

Lotus did a lot of work on the Corvette ZR-1's (as well as other vehicles) so strong chance was from something GM based

Corvette, Pontiac breakers in the USA ?

Cheers

Paul

4pot -US  (2.2 inline four Chevy kind of thing)

..V8 -Italian aftermarket supplier (you just should read the Lotus supplier notes available: EFI  Technology s.r.l. Bologna)

..that was the story you mention Paul

*Z* for example Zeus Aluminium Products Ltd. Dudley, West Midlands, GB

..all such things are interesting for us V8 freaks

Hello Che, guess we have similar thoughts about where to go with the ECM stuff, my ECM is Now Dead.

When you ask about the Connection block, I do have some data about the connections, to me the female part is the Plug side and the ECM has the Male part.

So I guess your wanting this part off an ECM itself.?

You can e mail me direct if you wish, as I'm  not able to drive my 500 bhp toy at this time.

my car has a 6 speed dog box. cheers Rob
