JPS found

Recommended Posts

On my travels with work which are extensive i have come across a JPS in a very small virtually private showroom.  I have not yet managed to get into the room but through the window it looks absolutely stunning.  I was informed by someone nearby that it is for sale along with 3 old porshes and a 308.  No idea of cost but for anyone looking for one would be well worth a follow up.

From the decal i can just see it looks as if it is number 24 or 34.

If anyone is interested let me know and will tell you where it is.  Can also get you the phone number if required

These people should be rounded up and shot at dawn.  Where was this?

Not far from home, about 6 miles in fact! It's number 19, I have more pics and am speaking to people who may wish to take it on and get it back to it's former glory.

We host the JPS register by the way - http://www.thelotusforums.com/jpsregister/

You're a bit late on 19 Bibs, it has already been sold and is at its new home in France. You can find more on the JPS cars at www.jpsesprit.com also.

They are still out there. Saddest one is the original number 1, 567G, now a hulk sitting outside in California of all places. A chap from the USA bought it in Scotland back in the late 1980s. It was previously used by Bell & Colvill as a test platform for turbo charging. It had a monster size turbo on it when he acquired it.

He imported it to the USA then took it apart to restore it. As usual, it was never finished and ended up being sold on as a job lot to California in the 90s. http://web.archive.org/web/20071013131111/http://extremeesprit.com/AboutMe/aboutme.html

Tried to ring the guy today but no answer.  Will keep trying.  Have spoken to a reliable source and apparently was an earls court show car.  Dont know the year of the show though

Good job #19 is sold as I'm a sucker for a neglected car and 'er-indoors would probably kill me if I bought another car! I would like a JPS though as it reminds me of the Scalextric JPS F1 car I had as a kid :)

#1 looks way past its best and probably not worth repatriating.

Well i have managed to make contact.  He has told me it is a personal car and not for sale.  Was one of two used as show cars so quite unique but also as far as i can gather completely original
