Nice, but can't be great for the clutch?

As you can see, I clutched in very gently at low revs. Slight downhill helped too. But I wouldn't recommend doing it regularly!

There aren't many cars which can pull from 0-100 in one gear, let alone that quickly.

Just demonstrating the torque. Would involve some clutch slipping at the start, so not recommended to do a lot as Anthony has said.

Engines are usually good at one end of the rev. range only: low-down torque (turbo diesels), or high-rev power (Honda S2000, or motorbike engines that peak at 13,000 rpm).

Being good at both is more difficult to achieve, but the Evora does it well. Yes, it's about versatility: an "easy" everyday car that can cruise in 4th or 5th in town, but can also scream at 7,000 rpm on a track.

Rather like its suspension, smooth on the bumps and controlled in the corners. Or as Mr. Clarkson put it : "an old sofa and a killer attack dog at the same time" :)

A.

PS: the description that "says it all" is on Youtube ("0-100 mph in 3rd gear"), and doesn't actually appear here. Sorry if it was confusing.
