Help with parts please

Recommended Posts

Hi

I need a bit of help locating some parts. I am after a set of the sealing rubbers that go on the spacers between the carbs and the inlet manifold - they are like top hats as seen in the picture, but looking in the parts list these o rings are listed as, well - o rings, such as the standard type we all know and love. Any ideas please?

The other items are the rubber heater take off hoses that come from the chassis. The Lotus part number is A079P4056F, however there is a Gates cross refernce 28467 that seems to be widely available in the U.S. Does anybody know what the U.K equivialent is?

Car is an 82 S3T

Thanks in advance

Those "o rings" Im sure I replaced mine and got most of my engine parts from Lotus through Stratton Motor Co. If I were you I would order the parts from your local Lotus part supplier then take your ones in when you go to collect. Then you can check they are the same. If they are not right Im sure they will take them back and sort you out with the ones you need.

I've just had a look at the Service Notes...also referred to the memory (mine, not the KomputerMaschine) and - as far as I can tell, they are simple "O" rings...they fit in grooves either side of the aluminium spacer plate and should be tightened down to give a gap between the mating faces of 1.5 to 2.0 mm. Looking at your photos...I'm not sure what I'm looking at! There seems to be far too much rubber for it to simply be the original "O" rings squashed beyond the point of no return...have you tried removing the rubber bits from the alloy parts to see if an "O" ring groove is revealed? Otherwise, I think they might possibly be specialist parts from some other source. My 82 S3T has nothing like those!!!
