A mate sent me this picture, not seen it before and it must be a very early S2

Here's the matching one Mario had. Forerunner to the Commemorative Edition cars.

Ronnie's car is not showing up on the DVLA database, which means it no longer exists or has left the country

On Marios car I just noticed the funky interior trim; there is a picture of him looking at some groovy 70s cloth with Nick Fulcher in kipper ties, didn't know it actually made it to the car!

Don't the S2s look gorgeous?

It's brown.   That photo is in Ian Adcock's book "Lotus Heritage".

Definitely brown, difficult to tell from the photo which specific brown it is.

Just come across an old factory build ledger. Ronnie Peterson's car was chassis number 7805 0201J, Engine number CC907 7805 14999, delivered July 10 1978 in Bronze.

They took over from Lotus Cars North America as Lotus importer in 1979. Arrangement fell apart after a few years and the operation was reestablished as a independent Lotus importer in 1982.

Did Ronnie have more than one Esprit?

23 years ago I remember seeing a red (awful repaint) S1 or S2 in a showroom in Copenhagen (www.daytona.dk) advertised as a Ronnie Petterson car.

The shop owner is still the same - maybe he can update you regarding this one.

Interesting to note that 0203J was collected by a J. Juhan.  I presume this was Jerry Juhan who was linked to GPD through which the missing £17.6 million from DeLorean was allegedly processed.

Top sleuthing Trevor!

Looks like JJ, like so many that were part of that troubled period, is no longer with us;
