marcbria
Hi Guys, I've noticed that my binnacle gets hot above the head light switch. The switch itself is cool to the touch and so is the face of the binnacle around it, but there is a definite hot spot directly above it on the out side of the binnacle. Is this normal or should I be opening it up to take a look? This is a federal car with Veglia gauges. Brian
GavinT
Hi Brian, I would pull the switch and take a look at the wiring. Better safe than sorry. I was working on my radiator support the other day and noticed some scorched wiring going to one of the headlight relays. I was more than a bit concerned. Best of luck. marcbria
Hi Guys, From the sounds of it these cars needed to be driven with a fire extinguisher handy even when they were new. I will investigate the switch, maybe its just some poor contacts but my fear is the dreaded previous owner with a propensity to put duck tape on everything electric got in there.
