fan over-run

Recommended Posts

have recently changed the radiator on my 96 v8, while doing this I have reversed the diverter valve and re wired as per workshop manual. since carrying out the above every time I start the engine and run it for ten minutes then turn off the fans are running for 35minutes or more which makes me wonder if there is a circulation problem the temp gauge isn't showing high.

have I missed something on rewire or is there something else can anyone give me any pointers

Thanks steve

35 minutes sounds too long.

In conditions of heat soak - engine off for 20 minutes after switch off if the temperature is 105 degrees rising then the recirculation pump and radiator fans are switched on. The diverter valve isolates the heater matrix and the water is pumped in reverse - into the engine block at the rear and out through the thermostat housing.

Temperature is measured with the coolant temperature sensor.
