Bellow grease

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

I'm replacing the bellows (boots) on my rack and pinion (S1 Esprit) because they are cracked and leaking. Theres lots of black grease under the boots that I'd like to clean off and replace but I'm not sure what type of grease to use, any recommendations?

I used the oil recommended in the workshop manual on my steering rack.

Just cleaned up the rack on my JPS S2, used the spray on white lithium grease. Mask off any areas you don't want it on and spray the rack liberally. Make sure the wheels are off the ground and slowly turn to full lock each side so you can spray the grease onto the full length of the shaft. Once the boots are on you can add more grease, if needs be, by inserting the nozzle into the end of the boot.
