Popular Post LotusLeftLotusRight 1,327
I mentioned on someone else’s thread that my brother’s Maserati Ghibli SS was nearing the end of its renovation. It’s never needed to be fully restored, but has had plenty of work done over the years, both bodily and mechanically. This was the status 8 weeks ago. It’s a 4.9 litre RHD manual. One of eight, I believe. Apparently it’s finished now, but he doesn’t want to drive it home because the narrow country lanes leading to his home are thick with mud!
Gold FFM jep 970 Posted December 15, 2020 Gold FFM Report Share Posted December 15, 2020 Lovely. I really hope he will get over the 'mud' hazard. I had a Jaguar restored 20 years ago. It is a bit battered and bruised now, thankfully. Trickle or treat I call it. Does a car stay on trickle charge or does it get out on the roads for a treat. Barrykearley 6,988
A mate of mine has had this made and fitted to his jcw mini. I’ve taken the piss gently 3 Quote Only here once
scotty435 1,121
My other half as a new daily clubman jcw and she just said she likes that steering wheel. Don’t no to laugh or cry. She gets most things she wants but this time just had to inform her she going have to be happy with her standard wheel. She replied with this expression 🤦♀️Lol.
Gold FFM Colin P 687 Posted December 20, 2020 Gold FFM Report Share Posted December 20, 2020 @scotty435 real men own Evora and their wives drive JCWs <<<<<<<< Now I like a bit of carbon, but much prefer the way it left the factory to the above. 1 Quote A Lotus is for driving, pork is for breakfast. Gold FFM C8RKH 6,452 Posted December 20, 2020 Gold FFM Report Share Posted December 20, 2020 I would not have been as gentle as you @Barrykearley, I'd have just pointed out that he was a fookwit and in need of a lobotomy if he thought that looked anything other than shite. His money though. His car though. Thank god! 1 Quote Alcohol. Sex. Tobacco. Drugs. Chocolate. Meh! NOTHING in this world is as addictive as an Evora +0. It's not for babies! Neal H 899
Are there MOT rules regarding steering wheels. I’m not convinced that’s even safe. And yes, it looks shite.
Barrykearley 6,988
He messaged me about the mot shortly after it had been fitted. I mentioned that a shite wheel like that is probably fine on a low powered fwd ladies car 🤭. 2 Quote Only here once
mdw 283
Thats going to take some getting used to. How many times do you grab a hand full of air. Guess the airbag wont perform as required either.

You tend to use the Digital Speedo in a MINI, much easier to see/clearer. VOE 4 hours ago, Barrykearley said: He messaged me about the mot shortly after it had been fitted. I mentioned that a shite wheel like that is probably fine on a low powered fwd ladies car 🤭. Hmm, low powered. I've said it quite often to people comparing my car and the missus' and I can assure you that the torque steer generated by the 231BHP being put through the front wheels of these is far more likely to put you in a bush than 400 through the rear wheels of an Evora . They can easily and cheaply be mapped to well over 300 bhp - but the thought scrares the living bejesus out of me!! 1 Quote A Lotus is for driving, pork is for breakfast. Neal H 899
It should scare the bejesus out of you. I had a fwd 300hp Focus RS a few years ago and full throttle in second or third was a wrestling match between me and the car. It wouldn’t bear thinking about with only half a steering wheel 😬
