Forum ownership

Just so everyone is aware, the forum is now owned in whole by Forums Ltd, a limited by guarantee company (specifically for not-for-profit companies). Any dealing you have with me are now passed over to Forums Ltd who are responsible in whole for anything to do with this website. I am the MD of this company and everything will continue as normal but if you wish to contact Forums Ltd their details are filed with Companies House.

What was the reason for this decision?

I am no longer personally liable for any litigious actions, the company are. I do enjoy running this forum but am not happy about risking my house on it in case anything were to happen as a consequence of running it. Upon taking some excellent legal advice this was suggested as the best route to keep myself out of trouble, should the forum get in trouble.

I've seen a few things on here recently that have made me worry - one I had to edit out!

Once more... YOU CANNOT SLANDER OR LIBEL PEOPLE WITH IMPUNITY! If you call (particularly) a small company crooks, crooked or anything similar, you better have some bloody solid, LEGALLY ADMISSABLE evidence or a conviction on which to base such an accusation!

I know it's difficult, as when we post here, it feels like we're just having a chat / conversation among mates down the pub or something... but this IS indeed a public forum and posts do seem to be increasingly considered as "published" and the forum as the "publisher"
