I have just brought a lotus and the tyres are completely ruined. can someone please tell me where I can buy tyres and get them fitted, I work various hours so if I have to get them fitted it would have to be at a convenient time for me. if anyone could recommend any sites they buy tyres from that would be great.

Don't buy Chinese manufactured tyres. Apparently, they're not better than Pirelli's like the guy who lives in a bin, who sold them to me, insisted.

Oh, and buy new ones. Another top tip, that.

I am awesome.

Lol, I bought mine from the factory, the same semi slicks that it came with. What an awesome tyre (in the dry) and great fun in the wet!

Cheap Tyres do have a place in this world.....normally on small cars that don't need adhesion levels up to that of the better brands. I attended a lecture (in my professional capacity) about tyres and it was a real eye opener.

Most of the cheap brands are perfectly good in dry and warm conditions but when it gets wet/cold/etc their rating drops quite heavily.

For example: a Kuhmo has a 3 rating in the dry but a 1 rating in the wet.

There's an article here that's really interesting! check out the "Other Brands section for the best cheapies.

Still true though. Spaceships are massive. Although, interestingly, as I found out recently, they don't actually need tyres.

Funny old world.

You learn a new thing everyday.

Awesome.

Well, interestingly, Chinese tyres from a guy living in a bin, are quite expensive when you by 40. It's a big spaceship.

Now that I've found out that spaceships don't need tyres, I'm gonna try and sell them to the Lotus F1 team, as the 2014 tyre. Am sure that they'll go for that.

Don't worry Brian, I don't take her out much, she's not great in the rain.

Awesome

Hey everyone thanks for the recommendations, I have looked around and found this site and got them from there just because they are cheap, simple to use and go the extra mile to make sure the job is done. I highly recommend them.

Hi Mark and welcome to TLF. :welcome:

Post up a hello in the Introductions thread as Kimbers has said previously and post up some pics of your car.

I think this chap is just trying to drum up a bit of business with a bit of free advertising :excl:

He lives in Manchester and drives an Elise over on Seloc
