TLF Christmas Party 2013 - Full details

This years Christmas party will be at the Nevill Bull in Birling in Kent in their private dining room on the 14th Dec from 7pm.

As you can see, it's rated 2nd in the area from 32 restaurants so I'm looking forward to eating there. There's tonnes of on site parking out the back and it's a lovely sleep, very small village so cars will be fine and it's very close to the M20 so easy to get to. 

 

I'm waiting for them to get back to me re room but there may be 3 double rooms available on site. If not, they've recommended a local B&B which is 5 minutes away - www.prettymaid.co.uk (Tripadvisor) - If you're going to book, please do so in the next 7 days and say you're from the TLF party as we've block booked the place. Rooms are £70-75 and some can take up to 5 people if you wish to share. 

 

Other local hotels are: Premier Inn Leybourne (1.5 miles) and Holiday Inn Sevenoaks (5.2 miles)

 

If you do stay there, there's an excellent restaurant in the grounds, The Vineyard, which comes highly recommended.

 

The menu (£25pp inc service eg £22.50 + 10%) is as follows:

Very Local Game Pie

Fillet of Sea Bass with Chilli and Lime

Roasted Red Peppers with Basil, Garlic and Brie

8oz Fillet Steak with Peppercorn Sauce (£4.00 supplement)

Traditional Christmas Pudding with Brandy Butter and Cream

For the ultimate Christmas Party, Kent Brewery are very kindly brewing us our own beer. It's called "TLF" It will be light and nimble, good and hoppy with a full flavour. There will also be provision to take some of this home all being well. :D

 

All being well, MJK will be joining us as a special guest for the evening too along with other notable Lotus folks, I just need to confirm he's ok with the dates and to travel. Sorted    All booked as well.  Didn't book breakfast as either the suggestion above by Kimbers sounds good, or will take my chances on the day as may not feel up to something that early in the day anyway!  Would we have to drive to said cafe? Will we be fit enough? 

Especially if drinking Engrish flat beer..........        Must remember to pack breathalyser!

 

If all in the one hotel we can maybe arrange nearer the time to have a pre-dinner warm up drink?

Very tempted to join you all again. It was very great last year, really enjoyed it. The only thing holding me back, is the fact that my wife is expected give birth to our first born, if all goes as expected it should happen on the 29th of November give or take 2 weeks... :-s

Perhaps breakfast at the premier inn would be a better idea? If the majority is staying there it may be easier for the minority to travel and the cafe we went to last year struggles to cater for more than 4/5 people at a time

That sounds like a good plan as long as it suits everyone. Do we decide on the night or beforehand so everyone knows?

If you are staying there you can book when you book in. I would suspect we could book breakfast....though they only serve till a certain time.....I think we met at around 10 last time.
