By plan do you mean buy a sport 300, stamp in your current Turbo SE chassis number into it to fool the authorities, and then discretely sell the Turbo SE back to Sweden? :P

Just bought a 1983 Esprit Turbo that was stored fifteen years,, Doing all the normal hydraulics over,, Carbs were done. Runs well with 22638 Miles. Bought it right price hoping that I made a good investment in the long term. Just  getting her road worthy again.  I'll post some pictures in the very near future. She is one very clean red lady

Sounds great! Congrats on buying a "real" Turbo Esprit :)

Re-commissioning cars which have been stored is a really rewarding experience. I did this on my 82 and found masses of things wrong but loved every minute of it.

Oh no Vanya! You caught me. Official now.

Errr no. No can do. No way I am going to Cash out for a Sport 300. Anyway the stupid MOT people may have become smarter over time. Maybe not.

On a serious note, No. But I'd like to make a few reversible alterations to my own car.

Cheers,

Jacques.

Cool - very nice find. Seems like it's the car to find these days. Can't wait to see the photos as it must be very similar to my own new Turbo purchase?

Congratulations Jenna!!?

Check this out 13k for a purple Elan! there should be no G  or S esprit cars available below this price irrespective of condition.

I'd given up waiting for a really nice Turbo SE, just never see them for sale. But heavens it would have to be very special to command £22k. I hope it sells for that quickly. Alas while fully accepting the popularity of red Esprits (going by the avatars on this page alone!) my perfect Turbo SE would be Pacific Blue or BRG (or maybe black).

youve got it all wrong Jonny - very nice colours the blue, black and brg. But we have red blood coursing through our veins - red lotus esprit blood I say!'

I could do a Monaco White Turbo SE but only if it didn't have dark blue leather (which they all did)!

They have long been sold in Scandinavia for that Price. Plus tax in Denmark, which is another 10-20 thousand gbp.

I just took a look at the market here this evening, and they are easily up to 30-38.000 gbp (plus tax in Denmark). In fact, a nice SE can now cost the same as a v8. And mind you, that tax will rise as the base Price is rising too. If this continues, they are going to be really ecpensive. Which I don't like. I'd prefer them to stay affordable. As we have seen 308's and air cooled 911's rise to 80.000 and above this year here in DK, the same may happen, albeit slower, with the Esprit. Which is a nicer and better and rarer car.

Kind regards,

Jacques.

and may I add: faster ;)

yeah, and the tax is far lower over there in the UK. But you drive on the wrong side of the road ;) On the other hand, you are allowed to change a lot of parts on the car, that we cannot in Denmark, say the brakes.

Cheers,

Jacques.

Ain't that the truth!

As I have tried a 308 gtb carbm which is faster than a injecton one, and a 348, which is better, but the Esprit SE is surely faster and steers better. Brakes are worse though. So Watch Little Red Riding Hood.

Cheers,

Jacques.
