Prices Soaring

Recommended Posts

Yes, that attitude is common. Mostly from folks who are behind the curve and late to the party. Prices are still reasonable, just slow. Mainly due to folk asking too high a price for the current market. They need to get real. Or hang on.

Once we have “crashed” out if the EU @Mark Blanchard I’d get in quick. Itll be disasterous for the first hour of trading - but once the truth hammers home it’ll change

Yes but I'll have an S4s for £18k for those few disastrous minutes, before the truth hammers home.

This is from the guy that went on holiday to California in 2002, after 9/11 and we had the place to ourselves.

I doubt that the Brexit affects much of the Esprit prices, if You consider export sales to the mainland Europe.

There are simply not much of the market for the cars with steering on the wrong side. Getting the spare parts here might get more expensive though.

I think you missed the point of the Brexit comments @Ekku

Yes, I understood that You are concerned about the classic car prizes dropping because of the uncertain economical situation caused by Brexit.

I am glad that You are not reading what the media in here writes about it. Bloodthirsty politicians and press wants to make it as costly as possible to You Brits, bacause You dare to leave this wonderfull Euro-socialist system behind.

It is interesting that the Guardian and Daily mail seems to be the only source that our media relies when talking about Britain.

I am sure that there are different opinions available there too?

About the Esprit prizes, they seem to be more reasonable than here, but You must have the biggest market of the brand there, so it might be vunerable. In our market the best classic cars are usually sold abroad to the Germany or Sweden, because the prize level is better there. Applies to the motorcycles too.

PS. I think that Your Isles are such a big market close to the mainland Europe that It would be foolish to not trade and do it with reasonable terms. With germans the agreement is likely to be easy, but the french are difficult.

Yes @Ekku, I was working in Poland over the summer, and the feeling there wasn't too happy. They were supposed to go into the Euro this year too.

I've been suggesting a Belgian exit for some time now, and my feelings about it only get stronger. As I'm on a government payroll, this is not appreciated at all. 😈 I do wonder what the effect will be for private buyers exporting cars from UK. At the moment it's very easy. Getting something from the US on the other hand can be a nightmare. Maybe I should stock up, just in case.

Lovely, not sure about the price, maybe it could be worth that to a collector, but you'd never be able to drive it, every mile would would reduce its value until eventually it's  worth no more than any other V8.

I agree. It's value is in its originality and low mileage. There is/was an RS Escort mkIII for sale in absolute stunning original condition, with just 2,000 miles on it I believe. However, unless it's virtually never ever driven, it's £64,000 asking price just reduced by the mile.

Very pretty piece of art though.

i certainly know folks whom will spend more than that on wine or a piano - so it’ll be perfect for someone

Are those the two options available? Wine or a piano? No Esprit?

I've all three. Does that put me into the rarest of elite? (Being from North Yorkshire I may have substituted the wine for beer)
