Hi,

New, bigger secondary injectors are in my garage. How to fit them into the car? Any help from you guys would be appreciated.

NOTE: make sure the clip is in the top most slot in the neck of the injector, or else they will be too short to seal.

You DO NOT need to undo the fuel lines from the plenum, but you DO have to purge the fuel system!!!!

Remove gas caps from both sides, don't forget this step!!! Disconnect the fuel pump electrical connection, and run the car until it stops running. Or you can also vent the gas from the end of the fuel rail at the schrader valve (use lots of cloth to capture the fuel as it comes out, and don't let it spray in your eyes!

Make sure to put a light coat of fresh engine oil the o-rings (top and bottom) to keep them from getting cut when you push them in.

The seal between the plenum horn (red thing in the picture above) and the plenum box is a paper gasket, you can either use a new paper gasket, make your own using gasket paper, or use Loctite anerobic gasket 518 (or Permatex anerobic gasket). If you use the Loctite also get some Permatex kleen&prime to clean the surfaces and accelerate the cure.

I use an o-ring pick to remove the clips on the wireing connectors of the injectors. Pick out one side while holding the other side with your finger to keep it from flying away.

It's a pretty easy job.
