tinywillyuk
Being curious, I popped the reg no in both of the DVLA look up websites advertised on the forum and it came back as reg unknown... Is that normal for test mules?
Mark Blanchard
From this pic, it looks like the width of the new car is wider than a standard Esprit. Only another 2 years to wait. Quote Mark www.lotusespritturbo.com
WayneB
Thats the best looking Stevens Esprit I have ever seen! Looks like they are exhausting the rad cooling air through the hood. Wasnt the other mule LHD too? And the wheelbase looks shortened over the other mule too. Mark Blanchard
My guess is Lotus is in the process of redesigning the Esprit. That would partly explain why the car has been postponed for 2 years. Fellas don't get too wrapped up in wheelbase and track and all that......understand one thing- different mules are there to do different jobs, they don't all have to be the same to carry out their individual specified purpose. Horses for courses!. I was half expecting someone to go off on the usual rant of......."I can't believe they are still planning to use the old doors/wing mirrors/glass/wheels" (delete as applicable). fmxa
Or someone bought a wrecked Esprit off Ebay and made their own cardboard body panels. Edited September 29, 2006 by fmxa Quote Paddle Faster, I hear Banjos!
Evil_Dr_Fish
Is that some kind of kit car?! Tony K
Cylinder Capacity (cc) 3506CC Does that give away the engine, or is 3506cc the Lotus V8? bo90
Went to the Lotus dealer today to finally cancel my Europa order and retrieve my deposit but the salesman persuaded me to hang on for around 4 weeks. He said that details of a new model should be announced and the model fits between europa and new esprit, He mentioned it would be of M250 size. I asked him if he new why the Esprit had been delayed and he said it was down to a change of engine. Obviously this could all be codswallop but I have a feeling that our factory visit next monday will be one to remember!!
