removed engine bay liners

well i have had a day from hell today.

i started taking the engine bay liners out, what a pig of a job, the rear panel came off and out with no problems.

The main engine section that wraps around the bay was a pig, for starters when undoing the bolts that hold it down, i found out that some were no longer fixed and the whole thing including the threaded grub that the bolt tightens into were spinning. I then had to remove the passenger wheel to get some small locking grips onto the studs to hold them still while using a ratchet to undo the bolts.. this took the best part of 5 hours to do mainly because of my size and this damn finger being in a splint still.

ok i managed to undo everything and remove the casing, i then find out i dont have the massive amount of room i thought i would have gained!!!! so i get the camera and start taking pictures in the space i have to see if it will show a crack in the manifold... guess what, i see no crack.

now i had a thought one thing i didnt check after was the feed pipes to the silencer on the braided gator sections, so tomorrow im going to re attatch the coolant pot put some coolant in and re attatch a few things and check them, i remembered i didnt do the pressure test on the pipes!! now if it is the pipes great and also damn..

however im not ruling the manifold out yet as i couldnt get in far enough with my camera as it started raining, hopefully i will get better pics later and from both sides.

Aghh thats a common view.

Well done for getting this far Si to get a slightly better look of the manifold you couldundo the mounts and jack it up slightly.

You have now done the hard work with getting out all youd need is to carry on taking stuff off!

well as im not going to make the sw lotus meet prehaps i can get to the factory visit. i just gotta get it sorted out

i still cannot see a crack anywhere on the manifold, and to top it off its now raining hard and the little mans crying!
