HOLY COW... MY V8 HAS BEEN OVERSERVICED

This has cost previous owners (and me) a fortune!

When you look in the Esprit (green) owners/ service book, the first set of service intervals and service I.D's are for 4 cylinder cars, therefore a service pattern of the following:

A-B-A-B-A-C

On the V8 which follow after it's the following:

A-A-A-A-A-B

The A service on a 4 Cylinder to a V8 is much less and a B sercice on a V8 is more like a C service on a 4 cylinder meaning that the cost is naturally substantial

However... Dick Lovett started stamping the service history on the 4 cylinder page and so it's followed suit!

The paperwork indeed states that each service has been a 'V8- A service or a V8- B service.. meaning the obvious of it's been having V8 B services every 12k when it should not have had any yet as it's at 30K now.

Taking also into account that the A services are more complex than a 4 cylinder A service, mine has been seriously overserviced.

Question is what do I do now?

Carry on as per the propper service manual.

TBH when you look at whats been done it's not much of a big deal. most of the inspection items are identical, apart from a few fluid changes and the cam belt.

A service on a V8 isn't that much more intensive than a 4 pot - I always think the dealers consider the fact you can afford a V8, you can afford the higher service costs too.

On my sheet they dont even change the plugs / air filters - only the engine oil/filter, the rest is just checks.

A service at Lipscombs on a V8 is
