Sealsdirect have a large catalogue that is downloadable to check profile. may have something close?

That is SOME site Simon. My wife wasn't quite as excited to be sat next to me last night while I was browsing through it!!! Thanks :-)

I tried everywhere to get that seal and from what I can tell it isn't available anywhere. I ended up buying a strip of foam seal from ebay which looks like it will work well although I haven't fitted it yet.

Thanks Jim. At least I know my search was not a failure now!

A quick follow up. I've made a sketch of the seal and uploaded it to sealsdirect.co.uk with a request "what do you have that's best for this" as they know their products better than I do! I'll report back when I have a response and perhaps there's a chance to make a batch if they recommend sheet rather than strip.

i have just replaced this having worked with foam before i got a piece of sticky backed foam that was oversized and 25mm thick

then pressed the bonnet down and closed the catch, went to work came back to it a while later, this left an in print in the foam.

then used a stanley knife and a bread knife to cut the required shape out. Bread knife from the kitchen is the best for getting a good clean cut!

then placed the foam over the opening on the car with the sticky side up and closed the bonnet.
