Esprit Door Sills

Recommended Posts

Has anyone tried these guys out? They are on eBay UK at 28.99 BP and their page,

states they do USA shipping but when I tried to buy them only to find out that I can not pay since shipping costs are not entered and to ask the Seller for shipping. When I do, I get "we need your address..." So when given, I get a reply "We do not do eBay"... Then they point me to their commercial site,

http://unqshop.com/lotus-esprit-esprit-se-turbo-door-sills-esprit-se-turbo,f,11,number,411020

where they are 39.00 BP plus 21 BP shipping.

Finally got a reply for the eBay site shipping, "about 29 BP for shipping" but still can not purchase and Pay. Seems truly flaky and wonder if their product is as flaky.

Their product looks OK to me but I am having doubts about the Seller/Business business itself.

Hi Travis,

I do agree with your opinion. I missed out on the ones on eBay a couple of days ago - used and rather tatty looking but were Lotus. Looking to find something to help keep paint on the sills....

39 pounds is very cheap. And yes the font is a little weird.

I remember paying a lot more for mine back 10 years ago - but they were definitely worth it.

As I've given my car the carbon fibre look, I've done the sills as well. I just added the 'Esprit' decal that you usually find on the rear of the later V8 cars. I made a paper template first and I had to make one for each side as they are different being Lotus.

I would be very interested in buying a set for my S4

I don't like the ones on eBay as the font is all wrong, the old ones were much better in my opinion.

What else have you done in carbon Owen?

Everything basically!

I did the sills, then thought why not do the rest of the car, so I have, including the front valance mouth, which makes it look a bigger opening than it is. I like it and the vinyl is very good, I had to make a few templates for some stuff, but other stuff I just applied and trimmed. It makes the rear number plate panel look more modern, also did around the rear lights to match. I also did the black scuttle section on the bonnet, might do under the screen as well, but still paint at the moment. I also did the door window rubber black rail trims, the paint was blistering again, already stripped and painted them once, so I covered them in the vinyl to match the rear quarter black areas. The rear quarter window trim is done as well, but didn't cost £100 like the replacements you can get, OK not real, but still looks reasonable.
