Welcome Faisal

Yes, according to the Essex database it looks like it was an unnumbered Essex car supplied to S. Arabia in 1980.

Steve Tryner on here is the guy to check with. Do you have any pictures?

Welcome to TLF Faisal. :welcome:

Duck over to the Introductions section and say hi in there as well.

Like Kimbers said, you will be awesome if you save an Essex!

All we know is that when they stop making this, we will be properly, properly sad.Jeremy Clarkson on the Esprit.

Hello Faisal,

Barrie has already given you the info we have on this one which is not a lot.

Lotus PTS (passed to sales was 30/07/80) then exported to Saudi Arabia/Prince Turki where has it been all these years, who was Prince Turkey Bin Abdulaziz, Lotus records show it as Prince Turki.

Lotus have no build number for 10301 but more importantly is not on the list has a Development car.

Chassis 1031 is the first supplied LHD customer car and theretically it should be LHD 001, many of the LHD Export Essex assumed their Essex number from the chassis number.

This could be a very important car that has been missing for along time, there is no 001 RHD.

It's now a matter for Lotus to recognise it as Essex 001LHD and give it provence.

If you are still deliberating over buying it providing the price is right buy it quickly.

Is it in Essex livery or plain Essex Blue with red leather ?

Wow. Years of neglect. How can anybody let a thing of beauty get like that :(

Lots of hours needed but still a worthwhile project. Welcome. Ian

How did the back wheels get so buckled? Has someone driven with the tires deflated.

Is no "LOTUS" embossed on the rear bumper a good sign it's genuine?

In the garage no-one can hear you scream

Wow Faisal

What a great find you lucky man, buy it and fix it up!

Looks like a lot of work and won't be cheap but defiantly worth it in the end provided you can locate all the parts.

Keep us posted with pics and info?

Dave :)

It's the second picture that is puzzling me. Am I right in thinking this Esprit has been parked up on the pavement of a busy street for all this time. I know it's engineless, but it's almost as if it's just run out of fuel and left at the side of the road?

Interesting find indeed though wondered why its changed so much from OE spec - unless it was supplied like that?

I'm guessing maybe - would such a famed Oil-rich nation align itself so much to an Oil company like Essex at the time.

Does it have the roof stereo Faisal?

That is a shame Bibs, still a lovely early dry sump car which is worth restoring, I would certainly take it on :)

I take it you have been in contact with the factory?

Dave :)
