Yes I still have the futuras in storage, was meant to take some photos this weekend but got carried away driving the GGT! I bought them for my V8GT but the new owner didn't want them so I put the originals back on and kept the futuras. I didn't know what else to do with them but loved looking at them so I put a large glass table top on them and called it my coffee table! Will take pics this weekend. Lovely as they are it still won't pass for an S300. At least not for anyone that knows what an S300 is. The cars defining features are those wheels, 315 section GS tyres and the tacked on wheel arches. I personally would pay less for a fake S300 than a perfect S4 but that's just me. Clearly many here see it differently. Is there not a danger of ruining the S4's fabulous handling with spacers and suchlike? The S300 had some serious work done to make it handle so beautifully.

I guess a dream is a dream, how you get there is up to you. I missed out on this particular 300, it's actually agony that it's still for sale but one proper drive in the Turbo felt like the best idea ever so no regrets.

I have to say this sounds very appealing! 'dead until 3500 rpm whereupon all hell breaks loose' and part of the pleasure of owning a Sport 300. I accept that makes it less suitable for daily use but i

I can add a bit of light to this. The blue V8 Gt is mine. I have been to see Scott a couple of times last summer as was thinking of selling. Then after my last post "nearly wrote it off" and the fact

In reality, once cars get modded they rarely, if ever, get returned to standard, it's just too much work and too much cost, especially when resprays are needed to cover things like arch mods (see Karl

I know the mechanical spec is totally different ,but as long as it's safe that doesn't bother me.Track days and fast driving is not my thing.I have always liked the looks of the sport300.I think that I could do this for £4000 including respray. As for resale value,I'm not that bothered. This will not go ahead unless I can get the exact wheels, like you said i would not look right doing all that work and having the wrong wheels.I may post a wanted add and see what happens, cheers.

In reality, once cars get modded they rarely, if ever, get returned to standard, it's just too much work and too much cost, especially when resprays are needed to cover things like arch mods (see Karl's example).

And the the spare parts rarely stay with the car. More likely the owner gets sick of tripping over them in the garage, needs a few quid one day, and sells them. Think back, Esprit S1s were chopped about like this once, hence all the "Wolfrace wheels wanted" adverts you see now people want them back to standard.

Your car obviously, but I see an unmodified S4 or GT3 as on the endangered species list.

Moreso S4's than GT3's I'd say - I've seldom seen an S4 that hasn't had the wing changed or that was in good nick. Most are 10 owners and up, 60-80,000 miles and zero service history courtesy of "summer fling" ownership. There's a Mustard Yellow S4 with cream interior out there (M196MPA or something is the number plate) which I've been following since picking my Turbo SE over it 2 years ago - every year it changes owner, every year the ad is the same "cambelt changed only 500 miles ago!" where 500 miles corresponds to what must be 7 years by now. Dunno why those are so mistreated.

The "Norway" wheels were not 300 sport wheels. They were specially commissioned and built around the Lotus PCD and were 18 inch front & rear 8 x 10 respectively. He also had the replica sport wheel extensions that were fitted to and Esprit SE. Sport wheels have the recessed hub with no centre caps :)

Caught between a rock and a hard place in a catch 22 situation, So its 6 of one and half a dozen of the other. Your damned if you do, but your damned if you don't so shut your cock!!!!!!!!!!!

Do what makes you happy man - most GT3's rock a wrap-around spoiler, and with the same body it doesn't look wrong on an S4 either. Just depends on what you want to achieve.

Plus removing the S4s spoiler isn't that a pain in the ass necessitating filling in holes and respraying bodywork?

Are you keeping the S4, or planning a brief fling and selling it? If the latter I would keep as stock as possible, it will help resale.

BTW what are OZ six spokes, do you mean the AWI wheels off the V8 (Bugatti style)?

Why don't you keep the S4 standard, and get an old SE to turn into a S300. I'm sure SJ do the body parts. As regards the wheels I'm sure you can make them up as they are split rims, they were fitted to BMW's I'm sure you just need a wide set to get the rears correct.

Yes ,the ones fitted to the V8's.

Love those, they fill the arches out so nicely. Fancied a set on my GT3 (keeping the originals of course  ;)  ) coloured champagne gold to look a bit Italian. Couldn't justify the costs unless I needed new tyres, which at the current mileage rate will be about 10 years.
