Nice topic, but I'm surprised you can get decent sound, my S3 is too noisy to bother with music.

I used to love driving to 'echo beach', and also ac/dc powerage. A bit eclectic I know.

BTW, I added an amplifier when I had the engine out for a rebuild ( amp mounted vertically hanging in the space behind the rear number plate, for those interested ). The rebuild gave me a chance to route some decent amp cable through to drive larger door speakers. This seemed a better option than a base-box, which takes up too much valuable space and, I'm told, doesn't work too well in a fibreglass car. Does anyone know any different?

Anyone got tips on improving sound quality?

Never turn the stereo on in the Esprit.

Suppose i might if it were a daily driver,

but i only use it for fun and never feel the

need for music. Since i shed the silencer

and cat, i'm even less likely to!

Have the CD player on constantly in the van though.

I currently have to keep me company:

Matt Munro (for we're gonna change the world)

Soft Cell (for say hello/wave goodbye)

Metallica (master of puppets)

Abba (40 tracks, 8 of which i like)

Van morrison (astral weeks and singles)

Suicidal Tendencies (join the army)

New Model army (thunder and consolation)

The strokes (Room on fire)

Killing joke (for love like blood)

The smiths (the queen is dead)

David bowie (1966 singles)

Mr munro is the current flavour of the month. :D

Mostly in the car I listen to... the car. ;)

If a stereo is taking up room and making extra weight, it will mainly be playing Goldie Lookin' Chain at full blast :D

Ok, this is vaguely related to Esprit's and music: if anyone's in the Bournemouth area in August and likes classical music, the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra are playing a Celebration of James Bond (with fireworks and stuff) in Meyrick Park on 5th August - www.bsolive.com for info. I don't normally go to concerts, but the outdoor ones are good (went to one a couple of years ago), and as it's James Bond, thought it might be a bit relevant. Might take the Esprit...!

OK, first post, so lets make it something trivial.

Katie Melua, track3 RPT. (The closest thing to crazy)

It isn't big and it isn't clever but it does something for me when I'm mellowing out. OK, so she's a babe as well but that's just coincidence....

Andy - rerunning the DVD in his head as he types...:D
