S2 owners response to the James Bond question

OK, so I've had my S2 for a good few weeks now, it draws attention as you'd expect; which I love, but 'that question' has somewhat hounded me: "so is this the James Bond car?".

My original response was to explain that the Bond car was an S1, then to go in to a little detail about the subtle differences between the two....... but I noticed eyes were glazing over and I rather think of myself as more charismatic and charming than boring and geeky.... so now I just go with the flow "yes.... yes this is EXACTLY the same as the Bond car...... and I'm James Bond"

But......if I hear one more person ask me if it goes under water..... by the power of Greyskull, 'charismatic and charming' will morph in to 'psychotic and violent', toot-frikkin-sweet.

errrrrrrrr....... as you were

haha .. the only way I get people to remember the original car is by telling them its like the bond car with slight differences. - Always followed by the underwater comment lol

But usually they ask what other car company engine it has, or if its a kit car.

Its usually.. " ahhh, this is the lotus with vauxhall engine"

Due to the popularity of the ford lotus cortina in Malta, alot of people think it's made up of Ford parts lol

I suppose it's the same as chaps who own a Delorean being asked "where's the flux capacitor?"....... and I must confess, I do that for shits and giggles.

Does it go underwater?

Lost count on that one, not that I mind.  Yes it will but it won't come back up.

I have just made a new friend who has a Delorean.  Not seen it yet....now I know what to ask him :-)

Love it... must remember that one!

I just say that car was fitted with the optional extras pack but if I tell you any more I'm going to have to kill you!

Don't trash the Delorean. Chatting to my car finance guy yesterday about how the market has picked up in the past year. He specifically called out the Delorean as the new must have in the mid market as prices are up and accelerating. He has no idea why.....

So

My answer to the "does it go under water" question usually is. "No, that option was only available on the white cars".

followed by " But it does have rocket launchers, where the front harpoons used to sit"
