No, No ,No...

You've got it all wrong. Don't highlight all the money and hard work you've put into it.

Take my advice and cover it in bird crap, describe it as a barn find, say it probably needs lots of work and that you know very little about the car.

That should get you at least double whatever you get listing it as you have

Thanks Barry, I needed a good laugh after spending 2 bloody hours trying to get the listing right. Have you ever tried to do an edit 10 mins after posting, grrr. Thats the first time I have tried to post a car and hope it's the last.

Scott, yep its the beast, got to go to make room for the new project and may as well do it now while she is looking good and before I tear it up running about all summer. Also listed the old Banana ( Eclat ) so we will see what happens. The beast is a lot of car at sensible money and you know whats been done to her over the past 18 months or so.

I agree with Barry. People, in my opinion, will want a car which seems to be 'no trouble' rather than one that has had to have a lot of work done. Rather than see it as 'sorted' they see it as a troublesome car and drive it somewhere nice and get more 'current' pics. I'm not sure a respray from several years back should be making up the bulk of the ad pictures.

Oh, and list it in our classifieds too :D

Sorry but dissagree, if people see the listing and work done they will be more inclined to think any issues have been taken care of and should have fairly trouble free motoring for a good while. As for redoing the photographs. not allowed on ebay, once they are on they are on and no changes allowed, I had this conversation with them yesterday, bloody fleebay.

John highlight the positives, that's what people want to see. Sell them on the upside. Also make sure your spelling is correct in the title.  Brilliant Normally "Asperated" 2.2 With No Turbo Issues

Sadly your add starts out describing all the things that are wrong, as soon as people see that they move on and you've lost them. Speedo currently not working, Handbrake requires adjustment, Drivers window fault.

Maybe go with: 1982 Lotus Esprit S3. Lovingly owned and maintained by a Lotus enthusiast. All services up to date per Schedule C. An incredible opportunity to acquire a well sorted Esprit that goes as well as it looks.

Also fix the simple things so they do not become an issue. The speedo, handbrake and window fault should be dealt with immediately.

Yep ok guys so I will never make a car salesman, Once a bid is placed you can no longer edit the item so it's stuck as it is. On the upside I have a few good bids on the Old Eclat and looks like if it is genuine and she will be sold this time, time wasters deleted of course.

A lot of time and effort has gone into the S3 as most of you know, as for the advert heading I wanted to be upfront and honest regarding what is required to get her finished and sold as I only have a week left before going back overseas and I presently have a threat of loosing my storage so she would be left outside and that I dont want.

Plus I still have the option on the GT to bring home and restore.
