MarkKassim
For those of you who follow the FIA World Endurance Championship series racing, Alunox who supply parts for Lotus have just completed a full race exhaust system for this LMP2 race car. It’s been constructed from combination of 321 Stainless Steel and Inconel. The tube diameter is 54mm thin wall, only 0.8 mm thick. Alunox have designed the system to the race teams specification. Notice the use of the slip joints similar to those used on the Esprit manifold. The tubes were also constructed in house, rolled and seam welded. There are only a few suppliers in the UK that could undertake such work, Alunox being one of them. The system is extremely light whilst being able to with stand the temperatures and vibrations of endurance racing. Lotus do compete in this series, maybe Alunox will do a system for our team one day.
