Nope. It's not a Ford Escort mate.    There's the Sport300 kit that SJ Sportscars sell, for better or worse but the Esprit is/was too rare for anyone produce anything.

I think a few of us are wondering the same. If you want loads of power and dont mind how it handles you could look at the TVR.    Buddsy

This! find yourself one that needs a lot of love then mod the hell outta it

I'm not looking to chav it up... Usually there are companies who replicate popular moldings and sell kits complete.

At the moment I will have to buy 5 items from 5 different people.... Was looking at saving some pennies by buying all under one umbrella

From experience their pattern parts match their prices.

Last I heard it was a 3 month wait for fibreglass parts.

Don't expect much in terms of quality, and they'll mainly need a lot of fettling to fit/look half decent. The 2002 rear light panel for example will, according to others, take 2 days in a bodyshop to prep/fit.

What's wrong with your bits Paul?

Bits on the car I mean. :D

All we know is that when they stop making this, we will be properly, properly sad.Jeremy Clarkson on the Esprit.

Opinions are like armpits. Everyone has them, some just stink more than others.

Are you looking to update the car to a V8 look? There are fewer and fewer of the first stevens cars around and in the long run you may lower the value.

I had thought about doing the same to minea few years back, but looking into it it would be better to sell and buy a newer car i.e GT3 or V8 as the otherbits also moved on i.e cabin layout etc..

possible engine swap and body kit? don't take this the wrong way buddy but why did you buy a esprit that you don't like the look of and don't feel that the performance is good enough :/ . I really think a v8 is right up your street big shouty wheels and arches loads more power.

I understand what ur all thinking.... I can assure u I love the look of the car and am happy with the power at the moment.

But - every single car I've ever had has been modified.

Ive converted a b5 a4 into a rs4 body with s8 engine.

I've got a diesel 3 series with a full m3 body.

I've got a supercharged e46 m3

I've got a corrado vr6 with a 24v engine conversion

I've got a highly modified Audi tt (crap car tbh - terrible drive)

And lastly I've got a 53 plate range rovet 4.4 with 09 frontend and 2011 rear end.

I'm not at all loaded, I'm just a car nut....

two things,

1. Why on earth do you want to change the car from original

2. Fibreglass quality at SJ....... I bought a cooling fan housing from there last year.  Completely different to original but assured on the phone with careful trimming would be fine and it was.  Sits well and is fine.  The quality of the mould however was shocking.  If it was not under the car it would have gone back.  I kept my original which is in 3 pieces so if the new one ever fails I shall make a virtually perfect new one by taking a mould from the original

Going to sell a few and use the money on the Esprit.

The more I see the rear lights I love them so and going to keep it retro looking.... All comes down to wheels I think

I do understand where your coming from, mine has yellow fog lamps, gt3 wheels, s300 front rubber lip and rear spoiler. If you start taking the side skirts off to change you will need to change front spoiler or it will look odd. And if you go the engine route with EFI etc you will need deep pockets. If you charge cool you need to change pistons etc.. If you really want to do it I recommend you look at what Dave (changes) has done to his car.

Esprits are so rare in the first place that they always grab attention. And they are so quick across country as corners don't exist they are a very quick point to point car. If you go stupid power with the engine remember your car has no abs etc..

It was fitted after, the same as mine, the turbos dont have a spoiler I've just taken mine off to lift the engine and quite like the look.

Hi Paul, you should pop over and take a look at my two. One modified, and a later model thats standard.

It might help you decide what you want to do.

One option would be to get your Esprit looking pucker, sell it along with a few of your other cars and buy a later model. Maybe one needing work that would make a good project car.

The problem with modified Esprits is that they can be tricky to sell on as most people are looking for good un-molested cars.

I picked up my S4 for a song due to a small engine fire.I'm sure there are some good project cars out there somewhere!

Don't get me wrong, I love my V6 Esprit. Its very reliable and cheap to run but when I bought it it was a non original non runner that was looking very sorry for itself and had not moved a wheel for quite some time.

Just a thought!

Went to visit Andy (Punky) lastnight which left me very impressed with his conversion. Top bloke I must say and very spoilt for choice with the motors he's got around him. Def confused now in what to do.... Once I've sorted my interior out I'll drive it for a bit and decide then, do I mod my low mileage factory example or buy one done and sell the red one to someone who wants it looking standard.
