Seats are these a lotus only seat or are they from a manufacturer such as recaro?

I nearly bought a set a few years ago, and I'm tempted again.

Recaro normally always stamps their products, and I haven't seen any yet, when I redid the leather on mine (sport 300).

The copies are alike, apart from the seatrunners/side brackets, which area bit different from Lotus'.

Recaro around that time of the Sport 300 made some very nice A8 seats though they don't resemble the Sport 300 and are much more comfortable and adjustable. They tend to break in many Places, but mostly in the lower seat area; or at least, te ealiest types of the A8, as they is very thin.

They are more heavy than the Sport 300 seat, although they are much lighter than a Recaro sports seat (like Golf 2 Edition One) or the Lotus comfort seat. Lotus Sport 300 is very light. Sport 300 seats are around 10 kilo incl. runners and bolts.

My Recaro sports seats in my Corrado are 21 kilo per piece.

The GT3 is possibly even lighter, as they are trimmed on side support in comparison to sport300.

Recaro also did som more racing oriented seats that looks like the Sport 300 seat. They were for race use, not street.

I think that Lotus would easily make a seat, when they had so much experience in making bodies. but not sure.

Cheers,

Jacques.

I got rid of the gt3 seats in mine as although they were ok for an hour or so the lack of adjustment meant they were not great for 3 to 4 hours. Replaced the with v8 comfort seats which are being retrimmed next week. Much more comfortable. However that could be more to do with my odd body shape with short legs and long body than the gt3 seats which did look more sporty.

Hi Malcom,

I think the padding on the lower part of the seat is okay padded, but as you say, the upper one, is thinner. I'm 1.88m, and have long legs, and they suit me very well, as they also support me at the waist area, where I have a spine damage.

Cheers,

Jacques.
