ramjet
passed away last night from what looks like a heart attack. Pippin was only 5. She was as silly as any spaniel, but had a lovely temperament. She was a tri-colour (for those who don't know, that is black, white & tan). We have just buried her in a large garden bed/pot type of thing which Liz will now plant a Best Friends Rose in (RSPCA sponsored rose) The only thing is, I have been combing pictures we have and I think I only have pictures of her as a pup. I can't seem to find any of her as an adult dog. Extremely annoyed with myself. I still find it astonishing how attached we become to these little guys and gals. Gold FFM Escape Posted May 19, 2014 Gold FFM Report Share Posted May 19, 2014 They do leave paw prints on one's heart that will always remain. I hope you and your family can find some comfort in the memories, even without pictures. Filip Quote I have made many mistakes in my life. Buying a multiple Lotus is not one of them. Simon350S
Gutted for you mate, such a short life. My dog is everything to me and I'd be totally gutted if I lost her any time soon. Quote Chunky Lover

ramjet
Thanks everyone. I think my wife pretty much cried herself to sleep last night as well. I just found out that Liz is fairly sure she has some pictures of Pippin on her iPad so once I get them onto this machine, I'll post 'em up unless I can work it out on the iPad. Shouldn't be too hard. Quote All we know is that when they stop making this, we will be properly, properly sad.Jeremy Clarkson on the Esprit. Opinions are like armpits. red vtec
Sorry to hear, we lost our King Charles (Charlie, we like to be original!) at similar age, he was fine and then just went in 24 hrs, turned out the poor sod had cancer. Broke our hearts, he was fantastic dog. They do become part of the family, and if you didn't care then it wouldn't hurt. maydharm
quote by Milan Kundera, taken from the book The Family Dog:“Dogs are our link to paradise. They don’t know evil or jealousy or discontent. To sit with a dog on a hillside on a glorious afternoon is to be back in Eden, where doing nothing was not boring - it was peace.”Our thoughts are with you Edited June 3, 2014 by JonJon
Kimbers
So sorry to hear Mike. I know exactly what you mean. My dogs 13 and Wendy asked me how I will feel when she passes away and I said it would be like losing a best mate. She's sitting under my feet right now asleep Pass my regards on to Liz and condolences to you both. Quote Possibly save your life.
