Waistband rubber trim - Anyone found a cross reference?

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

Has anyone found a replacement for the waistband trim that can be bought without going through a lotus specialist.

I am trying to find as many alternative as possible to save on high postage costs from these specialists.

Was recently looking at buying some door catch gaskets and the total cost amounted to €30 with tax and shipping for something worth less than €10!

I'd also be looking for other trim and seals such as the door seal and bonnet and boot seals if possible :)

Could it be purchased here in the UK and sent more cost effectively over to you? Happy to help if that would work.

:)

It's getting there......

available at SjSportscars.co.uk  @ £39 + VAT

Yep but when I check out the £39 becomes £69!!

WAIST LINE TRIM, (13mtr roll) Used up to aproximatley 1986. B076U6005V ROLL 1 39.00 Sub total 39.00 Delivery charges (based on 0.86kg) by Royal Mail (International, signed for) 19.25 Net total 58.25 Sales tax @ 20.00% 11.65 Total due (£) 69.90

Seriously does it cost £20 to post this item to Malta???

and why am I taxed on the total including Postage?? That doesn't make any sense!

If you use http://www.royalmail.com/price-finder it says that for 860g the cost for tracked & signed service to Malta is £13.05 but SJ will have to add costs of the packaging. I don't know why they are charging UK VAT on an EU sale.

In another thread where I was looking for the sponge seal between the front compartment panel and the heater air intake, someone recommended this company : http://www.sealsdirect.co.uk/

I'm human, just not like the rest! Why? ChromeLotusEsprit.com

Hi Jamie,

Being in the EU we are still required to pay the VAT.  But I can't understand why SJ also add tax on the total after postage is added.  Doesn't the postage amount itself include tax?

No...postage is subject to VAT. I had a hugey argument with HMR&C about that...they were charging me VAT on postage from the USA, so the postage hadn't even been paid in territory subject to VAT. I lost.

I have nothing against SJ's but most of the time I have a fright each time I put an order together as all prices are exc. VAT and when the total is added up, I am basically paying double each time!
